I can provide a talk for all ages and interests, from schools to WI, Members events and family days.
I can put together a talk on the historic clothing subject of your choice (6 weeks needed for new talks!)
I have a degree in History and Drama and many years experience in giving presentations and guided tours.
All costumes made by Badger Historic Costumes
Current talks include:
'How to be an Elizabethan' - clothing of rich and poor, from Court to country.
'The Changing shape of Victorian England' - a look at how the underwear of the period gives the familiar shapes of Victorian era clothing.
'Victoria 200 - Royal Fashions in the age of Queen Victoria' - a look at how Queen Victoria (and her descendants) dressed, mourning dress rules and how she championed British manufacturing.
It's not all about the clothing...
'The Georgians' - a romp through the reigns of the 4 Georges, looking at the Royal Court, manners and Fashions, and clothing of the common people. Also looks at the ways in which society changed through the 18th and early 19th Centuries.
'Following the Drum' - the women of the British Army of the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, their lives and roles.
'The Dudleys of Witley Court' - the Earls of Dudley and the heyday of Worcestershire's Witley Court: Royal visitors, scandals and making money in the Black Country.
